Bobby Thomson, a graduate of Curtis High School, who played for the New York Giants, died yesterday at the age of 86.
Thomson hit a home run, in 1951, winning the pennant for the Giants, that was dubbed, 'the shot heard round the world".
Bobby Thomson is a member of the Staten Island Hall of Fame. He was also a World War II veteran.
