Maritime Festival

On August 29, 2009, at the Atlantic Salt Company, the Maritime Festival was held in honor of Henry Hudson's maiden voyage to our harbor. The event lasted from 10am-4pm, with crowds arriving throughout the day, via foot and the shuttles, despite the morning rain.

Community businesses participated, included Gerardi's Farmers Market,Troop 19 from the Boy Scouts, and many others.

The event was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and featured the Half Moon replica of Hudson's ship and the Waterpod, which is an art project/community experiment.

The Half Moon arrived a few days prior to a small planned reception and a local bagpiper playing from a neighboring street.
