Mount Loretto


Migrating sparrows and hawks will be the focus as we walk along the fields and bluff at Mount Loretto.
Meet in the DEC parking lot off Hylan Blvd.
Director of Natural Science,
 Ed Johnson will lead intrepid walks rain or shine. Dress for the weather, wear rugged shoes, and pack your binoculars. While these are not hiking trips, be prepared to walk 1-2 miles on dirt trails over sometimes uneven or wet terrain.

Crooke's Point

Birds aren't the only animals that migrate through Staten Island. Join us for a walk out
 to Crooke's Point to observe the thousands of dragonflies as they fly around Raritan Bay and add to the SI Dragonfly Atlas. Meet at last paved parking area before the dirt road to Crooke's Point (within the park).

shoes, and bring binoculars if possible.
