On FRIDAYFEBRUARY 4th, syndicated morning maven and CLEAR CHANNELTop 40 WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK's ELVIS DURAN and the Morning Show's Greg T reported live from the STATEN ISLAND ZOO on GRANDPA's pick to win the Super Bowl. GRANDPA is a Black Handed Spider Monkey who has been calling the STATEN ISLAND ZOO home since 1973. He turns 40 this year, making him one of, if not, the oldest Spider Monkeys in captivity TODAY.
No ordinary monkey, GRANDPA accurately predicted GREEN BAY's victory by playing with a set of balls that he’s particularly attached to. One was the PACKER's ball, the other was theSTEELER's. He played with the PACKER's ball the most -- clearly he favored GREEN BAY.
GRANDPA also successfully predicted winners throughout the U.S. OPEN last year, which was chronicled in THE WALL STREET JOURNAL. ELVIS DURAN is planning to send GRANDPA a congratulatory fruit basket.
