Sat June 11 at 2pm   The Emperor of Ice Cream, Tappen Park, 630 Bay St, SINY 10304. Celebrate summer with our Jazz-Poetry parade & community festival.  Togas!  Colorful jazz ladies!  Wacky costumes!  Ice cream!  Great for all ages. Free!

Thurs June 16, 7:30pm. Bloomsday-James Joyce’s Ulysses.  ETG Book Cafe, 208 Bay St, SINY 10301. Staten Island OutLOUD is a Bloomsday bastion.  Join us - and Joyceans around the globe - for this comic epic.  (Adults only for this event, please)

Sat July 2 at 3pmDeclaration of Independence - South Shore: Our annual community reading of our nation's founding document, and other historic texts. Conference House, 298 Satterlee St (at Hylan Blvd), SINY 10307. Free!

Wednesdays, July 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2-4pm. Young Writers OutLOUD @Richmondtown branch library.  Creative writing for ages 10-16.  Richmondtown branch library, 200 Clarke Ave, SINY 10306.
Mondays, July 11 & 18, 3-4:30pm: Young Writers OutLOUD @Faber Park. Creative writing & reading for kids & teens. Faber Park, 2189 Richmond Terrace, SINY 10302.

Sat July 16 3pmAesop's Fables - Aesop Park, 601 Page Ave (at Bartow), SINY 10307.  Great for all ages.

Sat July 23 at 3pmBessie Coleman: First African-American Aviator.  Miller Field: 801 New Dorp Lane, (at Cedar Grove Ave, off Hylan Blvd), SINY 10306. When the US refused to train a Black woman pilot, Bessie went to France, learned French, secured her pilot's license and made history. Free!

Saturday July 30, 6:30pm  Moby Dick at Ft Wadsworth, entry at Bay Street & School Road, SINY 10305. Our annual celebration of Melville's classic, in a spectacular setting that Melville loved and wrote about with ardor. Music: SI Philharmonic Orchestra. Free!
